This Hiring Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how AFRIDAX (Pty) Ltd ("we", "us", or "our") collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information obtained from job applicants ("you" or "applicant") during the recruitment process. We are committed to safeguarding your privacy and ensuring transparency in the handling of your personal data. The General Data Protection Regulation, where applicable, and other applicable data protection laws will be abided by AFRIDAX (Pty) Ltd.


1. Collection and Use of Personal Information

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide during the application process, including your name, contact details, resume, cover letter, educational background, employment history, and other relevant information provided by you.

We use your personal information for the following purposes:

  • Assessing your suitability for applied positions
  • Conducting background checks, reference checks, and skills assessments
  • Communicating with you throughout the recruitment process
  • Making informed recruitment decisions

Reference information obtained includes information about your previous employment dates, positions held, duties performed, performance, your disciplinary record, personal qualities, skills, reasons for leaving previous roles, and certain other information about you.

At a later stage in the process, we might require you to report the existence of any fraud lists, criminal convictions, and/or offences. Along with information regarding your credit score, we might additionally independently verify this information with outside service providers.

This is the final step in the application process, and would require you to sign a consent form, thus only if we are thinking about providing you the relevant role will we process this data.

We might not be able to process your application if you do not supply the personal information we have requested.


2. Legal Basis for Processing

Our processing of your personal information is based on your consent to participate in the recruitment process and our legitimate interest in evaluating and selecting qualified candidates for our open positions.


3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We may share your personal information with the following parties:

  • Internal staff involved in the recruitment process
  • Third-party service providers assisting with recruitment services (skills assessments, background checks)
  • Legal and regulatory authorities as required by law

All of the companies in the AFRIDAX group and our third-party service providers are obligated to follow our policies and implement the necessary security precautions to secure your personal information. We only permit the processing of your personal data for certain purposes and in line with our instructions. We do not permit third-party service providers to use your personal data for their own interests.


4. Data Retention

We will retain your personal information for the duration of the recruitment process and for a reasonable period thereafter in case future employment opportunities arise. If you are not selected for a position, your personal information will be securely deleted.


5. Your Rights

As a job applicant, you have the right to:

  • Access and request copies of your held personal information
  • Correct any inaccuracies in your personal information
  • Withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing
  • Lodge complaints with the relevant data protection authorities

Should you wish to revoke your consent, send a written request to . Upon receiving such a request, we shall cease processing your application and, in accordance with our retention policy, safely destroy your personal data.
